A GP is facing the sack after being accused of discriminating against a Muslim woman after 'asking her to remove her veil' during a consultation.
The patient claimed Dr Keith Wolverson, 52, told her he could not hear her explain what was wrong with her child because she was speaking through her niqab.
The doctor of 23 years then 'asked her to take it off' while all three were sat in a consultation room at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
...because then not only would you be able to demand she remove it, you could
fine her when she didn't!
Police set up the camera on a van in east London which matches faces of passers-by with a database of wanted suspects, according to BBC Click.
One man walking past hid his face with his hat and jacket as he spotted the camera in Romford.
He was later handed a fine for disorderly behaviour, the clip shows.
See? If it wasn't for double standards, the State wouldn't have any standards at all.
I understand the Muslim woman readily agreed to remove her veil so the doctor could be better informed as to how to treat the child, and it was only after she had told her husband some time later that she made the complaint. I would suggest that the only reason she made the complaint was because she was told to by her husband, one of the Religion of Perpetually Offended. No doubt he will he celebrating with his mates down the mosque if the doctor is struck off.
ReplyDeleteThe Man In London is an idiot, though perhaps it could have been dealt with by the Police in a different manner. To deliberately hide your face after being told by a passer by of the facial recognition vehicle was just asking to be stopped. He was, apparently arrested for his attitude and behaviour, rather than the act of hiding his face and, in my view, his actions merited further investigation. If he had been a wanted person, newspaper headlines of "Police let wanted rapist/bank robber/mugger walk past their facial recognition vehicle after he hid his face in front of them" would have caused problems.

Well perhaps, but once it was established that he wasn't on any kind of wanted list that should have been the end of the matter. I mean, disorderly behaviour? Really? We should be very concerned that the police can just make stuff up and charge people and that the courts are willing to fine someone for such a ludicrous charge.
ReplyDeleteSimple, if the ragheaded bitch has a problem communicating WITH A DOCTOR SHE'S GONE TO FOR HELP, through her out and tell her to visit the shaman or whatever baboon twat she goes to in the 'old country'A doctor is not expected to trat those he cannot approach with equanimity.
ReplyDeleteStonyground, I should, perhaps have added that his behaviour and attitude after being stopped, led to his arrest.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, the Police are no longer allowed to say something like, "You're not on a wanted list, but we had to stop and check because you deliberately hid your face. Don't be a twat!"

Reading the report: it seems she was perfectly happy to remove her facemask. It was only later when hubby discovered what had happened that a complaint was made. So it's not Mrs Nutter, it's Mr Nutter who is "offended". Very feminist!
ReplyDeleteReally - why do we tolerate this kind of thing? If a significant section of the population (identified by their religious attachment) - to which the political class panders unceasingly - wishes to live in the Middle Ages, let them! But at home rather than in the UK. Meanwhile the likelihood is that Derby - and, more particulaly, Dr W's patients - will lose an experienced doctor. The only person coming out of this ahead is Mr Nutter.
Tyranny is defined by arbitrary use of power which is then supported by a rotten Establishment.
ReplyDeleteThe public will not always mimic helpless sheep in a field but it would appear that worse is to come before the chain reaction is triggered.
"The Man In London is an idiot, though perhaps it could have been dealt with by the Police in a different manner."
ReplyDeleteBeing an idiot sin't against the law. Or we are going to need a lot more jails!
"We should be very concerned that the police can just make stuff up and charge people and that the courts are willing to fine someone for such a ludicrous charge."
Spot on! I've no reason to hide my face. But being a bolshy cow, I will now, should I see one of these things.
"..and tell her to visit the shaman or whatever baboon twat she goes to in the 'old country'.."
So, go to the surgery down the road, then...? :D
"Unfortunately, the Police are no longer allowed to say something like, "You're not on a wanted list, but we had to stop and check because you deliberately hid your face. Don't be a twat!" "
Of course they are allowed to say that! They aren't automatons. Are they?
"Really - why do we tolerate this kind of thing?"
Beats me.
