Stephen Harris, defending, said his client was “shocked and embarrassed by his behaviour” and “apologetic”.
He said Jupp has struggled with anxiety and depression, and had lost his medication which did not help with his erratic behaviour.
Mr Harris asked magistrates to impose unpaid work and a community order for the offences. What, seriously? You've got to be kidding!
Magistrate Chris Bell said he was concerned by Jupp’s previous attacks on police officers.Well, of course! So you sentenced him to a long sp...
Oh, Of course not.
He ordered Jupp to complete 200 hours of unpaid work and 25 rehabilitation sessions.
Jupp must also pay £90 compensation to Mr Newman and £200 to Sussex Police.
He must also pay a £190 fine and £200 court costs, which will be added to the £725 he already owes the court.Who thinks the court and these people will ever see a single penny?
Anyone? Bueller?
Sussex may be host to the most corrupt police in the UK. Even the government's own HMIC reports, repeatedly identify and make the bluntest of references to "established patterns of unprofessional behaviour and corruption." Additionally, reports from the Information Commissioner's office, refer to 'areas of great concern' where Sussex police repeatedly fail to respond honestly to FOI requests from the public; or have deliberately destroyed information/evidence prejudicial to their interests, with the purpose of concealing crime and misinforming citizens and watch bodies.
ReplyDeleteShovelling out so much shit, to both public and government Inspectorates, has exhausted the vast reserve piles at Sussex police headquarters. I suspect that this service was probably unappreciative and contemptuous of Mr Jupp's small contribution to future stocks.
Suggestion: should the guilty not pay the fine within say six weeks, the amount should be docked from the magistrate. This should improve sentencing!

ReplyDeleteWell, at least they are efficient at SOMETHING!

I like the way you think!
