A police chief found guilty of ‘bullying’ colleagues has been appointed head of professional standards at Scotland Yard – and will oversee the release of the Nick report into the public domain.
Surely not?
Despite being found guilty of three counts of misconduct last year, Mr Horne was controversially allowed to keep his job and has now rejoined the Met, his former force, as Deputy Assistant Commissioner (DAC) for ‘Professionalism’.
Well, if the Commissioner of the Met can get away with ordering an innocent man shot to death on a packed Tube train, I guess, why not..?
ANd isn't the Commissioner of the Met a well-known dyke, and in charge of LGBT+ activities like police turning up in rainbow facepaint at a Pride march?
ReplyDeleteI suppose we can liken these strange power events to the last days of the Nazis in the Berlin bunker complex...but with far too fewer suicides.
ReplyDeleteThe Met has always had a thing about recruiting senior officers from other forces. It doesn't work. The scale of the Met overwhelms them and they bring the working practices from their small forces. Worst example was Bernie HH. He filled the senior ranks with his mates and it will take years to repair the damage.
ReplyDeleteThere is a phrase in our job- Constables and Sergeants make mistakes, senior officers "learn from their experiences".

ReplyDelete"...and in charge of LGBT+ activities like police turning up in rainbow facepaint at a Pride march?"
ReplyDeleteWhich makes her untouchable.
" Worst example was Bernie HH. "
Oooh, I think the current incumbent has a few more miles in her yet!
