Ladies And Gentlemen, Meet The New Brendan Cox!

'Don't use my son's death for political propaganda!' says Jack Merritt, as he uses his access to the 'Guardian' to do exactly that...
What Jack would want from this is for all of us to walk through the door he has booted down, in his black Doc Martens.
That door opens up a world where we do not lock up and throw away the key. Where we do not give indeterminate sentences, or convict people on joint enterprise. Where we do not slash prison budgets, and where we focus on rehabilitation not revenge. Where we do not consistently undermine our public services, the lifeline of our nation. Jack believed in the inherent goodness of humanity, and felt a deep social responsibility to protect that.
That belief got him killed. I'd rather it didn't get any future innocents killed.

So that door can stay firmly closed, with the Islamist terrorists firmly on the other side of it.

  1. Yep. I think the left are going to be disappointed if they think having a snooty Lucy complaining that BoJo is too harsh on scumbags is going to be a vote winner for them.

  2. Gives an additional example to the definition of 'fuckwit', doesn't it?

  3. If these people really believe in the inherent good in people, can they state categorically that they don't lock their house doors when they go out, or their car doors when they park? Perhaps what they really believe in, is a selective open door policy.

  4. Useful idiots...these terrorists cannot be changed and need exterminating. These two people murdered have found this out the hard way.

Er, yes, Usman Khan who murdered your son was successfully rehabilitated, wasn't he, Mr Merritt? Read all about Khan's successful rehabilitation here:

If Khan was considered a "success story" for a rehabilitation programme, I'd hate to see a rehabilitation programme failure.

  6. I'm happy to go down the route of having the victims decide the punishmnt. I don't think that's going to work out the way the left is hoping.

  7. All that will happen here in our normal knee jerk politicians is that people who have been accused by their ex of being violent will end up away for life and the scum that should be away for life, like this guy, will still be released early.

Our government from top to bottom is simply not fit for purpose.

Let's hope so. But I fear it's falling on receptive ears...

"If these people really believe in the inherent good in people, can they state categorically that they don't lock their house doors when they go out..."

They aren't stupid. They just think we are.

"I don't think that's going to work out the way the left is hoping."

    Me neither!
