Some years ago, I visited my pregnant and homesick sister in the USA. At her fervent request, I took Tunnock's teacakes, digestive biscuits, Marmite and three bottles of Ribena as well as a home-made Christmas cake.
On arrival at customs, I was ushered into a side room where my luggage was being enthusiastically sniffed over by an excited spaniel - turns out dogs really like marzipan - and spent an awkward five minutes explaining, among other things, what was in the bottles; "Ma'am, what exactly is 'Ribbenna'?"
The new sans sugar version yes but before it was delicious.
ReplyDeleteThat explains a lot!

ReplyDeleteI've always hated the stuff! But, apparently, blackcurrants are the latest 'superfood' so what do I know?

Heh! Ironic, from the country that invented 'Mountain Dew'...
