From 15 June, bus and train commuters in England could be refused travel if they fail to comply with the measures - or face a fine.
But according to the BMA, this...
Utter nonsense, because there is 'some evidence of a benefit, but it remains
fairly weak'..?
...should be extended to all areas where social distancing is not possible.
Oh.
BMA council chair Dr Chaand Nagpaul also questioned why the introduction of these measures has been delayed - adding that the risk posed by coronavirus would be "much less" if the public starts wearing face coverings immediately.
Do you think we've all
forgotten that when this started the medical establishment were advocating that there was no evidence of any benefit to it?
Announcing the plans, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps had said "we need to ensure every precaution is taken" as England relaxes the lockdown further, and passenger numbers start to increase once again.
The government says face coverings are "marginally beneficial as a precautionary measure".
And that's a reason to change our entire way of life and render CCTV on public transport useless?
Sorry, I'm protesting racial equality when I take the number three into town so do not have to comply, and any police officer who says I do is a waaaaycist!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how equitably this restriction will be enforced? Having seen how there is a marked difference between how anti lock down protests and BLM thugs are policed, I am going to guess that this is not going to be that equitably policed at all.
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly a reason for me to continue my policy of never using public transport. Keep it up, Grant.
ReplyDeletePubs closed but borders open. The law abiding masked by government edict, but the thugs of the Left and of BLM are allowed free reign. This is not a free country, this is now a tyranny.
ReplyDeleteI posted the following link at Legiron's blog on the 25th of May:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.researchgate.net/publication/340570735_Masks_Don't_Work_A_review_of_science_relevant_to_COVID-19_social_policy
It included references to 7 different studies showing that mask wearing is no use, and may make matters worse. Guess what - that link no longer works, and searching for articles about masks under their "COVID-19" section now produces a study showing the exact opposite! Were Researchgate "Got At", I wonder?
Is it any wonder that so many of us get angry when BoJo and Hancock bleat on about "Being guided by the science"....
I think that the mask thing is a way of pretending to be doing something. If wearing them means that we can otherwise return to normal then I think that it might be worth going along with it for the time being. Not that public transport is something that I concern myself with. I hate it and avoid it as much as possible.
ReplyDeleteGreat. Burkas all round.
ReplyDeleteIt's an attempt to persuade the large numbers of people still hiding indoors hoping that will save them from the virus. Wearing face coverings will not make the slightest difference. If you are susceptible it will get you, maybe not this season but when the virus returns next time.
ReplyDeleteWell it is quite easy, wear the mask but do the following,
ReplyDelete1. Pull the mask down to scratch your nose, say every 5 mins.
2. Turn the mask over say every 10 mins so the inside will dry out.
3. Every time you speak to someone pull the mask down, this will avoid discriminating against the deaf.
Oh and we must wear a mask but it does not say what the material needs to be, perhaps a square from a net curtain?
Kudos to MI5 or MI6 or MFI or whoever it was that discovered the virus was planning to attack on 15 June. It's top-notch sleuthing such as this that keeps us safe. Clapping is insufficient reward.Index-linked pensions and knighthoods all round!
ReplyDeleteLook, all you white law abiding Brits will do as big brother says OK! If not you can expect a visit from the revenue gathers! All others may continue to just what they like, situation normal simples.
ReplyDelete"Sorry, I'm protesting racial equality when I take the number three into town so do not have to comply, and any police officer who says I do is a waaaaycist!"
ReplyDeleteHeh!
"I wonder how equitably this restriction will be enforced?"
Will it even be enforced at all?
"Is it any wonder that so many of us get angry when BoJo and Hancock bleat on about "Being guided by the science"...."
We clearly pick 'the best' scientists like we pick 'the best' politicians...
"I think that the mask thing is a way of pretending to be doing something."
Yes! It's not guarding against covid, it's guarding against something more deadly and persistent. The compensation lawyer.
