Agreed, many from the OSS were certifiably batshit crazy. If one looks at some of the schemes proposed and worked on by the OSS's spiritual successor, the CIA, it would seem that utter lunacy is a pre-requisite for a career in what the Merkins call "Intelligence" (who said Yanks don't do irony?).
