Keep Clapping For Them, Fools....

Mr Harriss recalled: “The ambulance crew were not very concerned about the dog bite, but they were concerned about her blood pressure and heartbeat. There was no obvious sign of infection and the wound was clean. They were particularly concerned she was very dehydrated after her sickness.
“It’s a very unusual occurrence. However, it’s concerning that A&E doctors are unaware that a dog bite which isn’t oozing pus or is a wound that needs stitches might still be a problem where the patient is exhibiting the signs of sepsis.
“The big question is bluntly: if she had been pumped full of antibiotics as soon as she got there, would that have made a difference? What is clear is that the hospital didn’t regard the dog bite as a problem. They were convinced at the time that she had died of Covid, and much of her treatment was Covid-related.
“The A&E and ICU doctors admitted they were completely unaware of this type of bacteria when I questioned them at the inquest. Not giving her antibiotics straight away seems to me ridiculous.”

Seems negligent to me.

Kathryn Halford, chief nurse at Barking, Havering and Redbridge NHS Trust, which runs King George hospital, said: “This was a very tragic case and our thoughts are with Mrs Alexander-Harriss’ family.
“This Prevention of Future Deaths report, addressed to Public Health England, will play an important role in raising awareness of the organism Capncytophagia canimorsus, among health professionals across the country.”

How many years have dogs been around..?

I like the title. Works with and without the apostrophe.

  3. It's not at all shocking to me that an NHS hospital would miss something as basic as spesis or fail to prescribe the correct medication for it. This is what happened to my late mother who went into an NHS hospital with sepsis and the tickboxing doctors gave her an antibiotic that both the family and her medical records told the doctors was known in her case to be ineffective. But the NHS being the NHS, the doctors prescribed the ineffective antibiotic which means that by the time that they switched to the correct antibiotic, the sepsis had taken hold and killed my mother. My Mum paid into the NHS all her life only to be treated like dirt when she really needed them to be effective and efficient. You will NEVER find me cheering for the NHS. I despise it and completely understand why informed Americans look upon the NHS with absolute horror.

This case from King George hospital raises a very important question. That question is how many other patients have died or been harmed by medical conditions like sepsis and similar ailments because the medical staff have misdiagnosed the patients as suffering from covid? I suspect that this number, along with the number of patients who've contracted covid in our filthy and badly run NHS hospitals, may be quite high.

  4. A clear case where the dog owner implicitly murdered the woman. Perhaps it isn't just the dog that should be put down.

On the other hand, don't the medical profession know that dogs eat shit? A dog's mouth is a festering mass of bacteria (as is a cat's mouth, a human's mouth, etc).

One wonders how a small poodle got close enough to bite her when she was out with 2 large dogs of her own.

Maybe the hospital was simply waaaayciiist!

Because they know better than their patients...

    I suspect we'll never know.

My mum is currently attending there for the urology department, and the lack of organisation is shocking! I have a complaint all ready to go in once she's finished her treatment.
