The Labour leader said he was determined to prove no rules were broken. “The idea that I would casually break the rules is wrong. I don’t think those who are accusing me of it believe it themselves … They are trying to say all politicians are the same.”...then the only people they are fooling are themselves.
Because it's now plain as it could ever be that while police sought out elderly ladies resting on a bench while taking their 'permitted' hours exercise to slap them with a fine and undertakers seperated grieving relatives comforting each other at sparse funerals (and some of them did this because they were bitter people, it's no doubt true) under the imptression they were doing 'the right thing', it's clear those demanding it...didn't believe a word of it.
In a statement at Labour HQ, he said: “If the police decide to issue me with a FPN, I would of course do the right thing and step down … The British public deserve politicians who think the rules apply to them.”We'll never get that. Because it's clear that if someone enters politics with that belief, it doesn't take long before they are corrupted beyond any hope of salvation.
Billy Connolly: "we should be wary of anyone who even WANTS to be a politician"
ReplyDeleteIts irrelevant really whether Starmer or Boris (or indeed any of the myriad No 10 civil servants who were partying it up) broke the letter of the law. The crucial point is that despite all their public pronouncements about the need for such laws, and the terrible consequences that would ensue if the masses congregated together, they themselves had absolutely no qualms about mingling (whether socially or for work) with large groups of people when such mingling was entirely unnecessary. They obviously didn't believe a word of the propaganda that was streaming out of government (and its MSM lackies) at the time. Do we really think that if Covid was as dangerous as they were implying a group of people would decide to congregate in an enclosed space and eat and drink together?
ReplyDeleteWhy can't we accept that both Johnson and Starker are liars, sack them both, have a general election, and start all over again. However, leave Raynor where she is. Every rabble needs a ginger growler to concentrate on.
ReplyDelete"They obviously didn't believe a word of the propaganda that was streaming out of government (and its MSM lackies) at the time."
ReplyDeleteThat has always been my problem with the whole affair. That they were doing this while pumping out all these lies and giving our clueless coppers carte blanche to bully innocent people. What I don't get is that some people still believe the crap even now. There are still plenty of masks in Asda, this morning I saw a woman with her mask on diligently sanitising herself and her trolley before going in.

ReplyDeleteWould any person buy a beach front house, continue to fly the expensive way, wolf down great steaks, own and heat multiple homes if they really believed that soon all coastal cities will be under water, burning hydrocarbons and letting cattle eat the grass that humans should be eating will cause temperatures to rise to levels not seen since grapes grew in Greenland. (Maybe they called it that because the ice was a nice share of green.)
Sobers make the point that is being missed in this business. Not one msm outlet has pointed it out.
ReplyDeleteWe have plenty of examples of the same sort of hypocrisy in New Zealand with both politicians and the health nazis being caught out breaking their own rules.(Which are only for the little people anyway)
ReplyDeleteWe still have mask rules applying in shops etc, but I have managed to get an exemption. I delight in shopping maskless and counting all those wandering about with badly fitting masks kidding themselves they are protected from a virus.

ReplyDeleteA warning for our times...
"They obviously didn't believe a word of the propaganda that was streaming out of government (and its MSM lackies) at the time."
What DID they know, and when did they know it?
" Every rabble needs a ginger growler to concentrate on."
🤣

No-one likes to admit they were conned. That's human nature. And it's not just the Japanese that feel a need to save face...
"Not one msm outlet has pointed it out."
And they won't. Because they were in on it too.
"We still have mask rules applying in shops etc,..."
Good grief!
