Suddenly You're All In Favour Of Parental Choice..?

A group of concerned parents disrupted a performance of Drag Queen Story Hour in Britain on Tuesday, accusing the touring troupe of trying to “groom” young children.
According to its website, Drag Queen Story Hour UK says that it provides “fun and interactive kids shows with amazing and talented drag performers!”
“Drag Queen Story Hour UK wants to show the world that being different is not a bad thing, and by providing imaginative role models for children to look up to, we can change the world book by book!”

Those of us who have attended bawdy pantomimes or - in the case of male readers - stag nights with 'exotic entertainment' will look askance at that description, I suspect...

The women were escorted out of the library by security and police officers who attended the scene, and who had gathered in their dozens to stand guard at the event...

So, if you were burgled or mugged around this time in Reading and wondered where all the cops were, I'm sure you're comforted by the knowledge they were dealing with far more important matters...

A spokesman for the Reading Borough Council said that the Drag Queen Story Hour classes were “age-appropriate” adding that it was a “ticketed event and all parents attending were aware of the nature of the performance. It is regretful that some people chose not to respect parental choice.”

Gosh, parental choice! I thought local councils - especially Reading - had done away with that...

  1. The old saying “The police aren’t there to protect the people from the criminals, they’re there to protect the criminals from the people” rings truer every day, just not for the reasons we all supposed.

It was always assumed (and may even have been mostly true … in the distant past of the last century – Ah, the halcyon days of the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s) that that was because impartial justice was ‘fairer’ than the ‘rough music’. That the very concept of civilisation demanded that impartiality.

Now? It’s patently obvious the police not only support the aims, behaviours, actions and ‘rights’ of the criminals (over and above any mere massive majority of law-abiding normal citizens), they do so because they are mostly made-up of the very same people as those criminals (be they deviants, ethnics, pseudo-religious cultists or just the lawless). They’re protecting their own kind. Impartiality, indeed even basic civilized behaviour, is the last thing they have any interest in adhering to or enforcing.

That it is intentional is beyond doubt (to destroy belief and faith in the institutions of a free society is the first step towards replacing them, and its entire culture, after all) but, as per normal, they really don’t understand people (as anything other than compliant, exchangeable, faceless widgets). People wont just take this lying down forever, it is as close to boiling over as I have, not only ever seen but, could ever imagine.

Soon the rough music will begin to play, and first to hear it will be … those police. (They obviously believe, hope, they will prevail, and will then rule openly with the iron fist uncovered. They fail to remember that even a small riot, a football match even, leaves an entire county un-policed. They wont even be noticed, except possibly as 'festive street decorations', let alone slow down the ... long over-due reckoning).

They long ago abandoned any pretence at still being Dixon, or even Jack Reagan, now we have … a legion of Beria’s own (although I suspect even Beria would look with disgust at what they openly support and advocate for).

Not to mention the fact that they do it so incompetently!
