Is the cop car there in case someone tries to steal it?
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council said the tree was chosen for its shape and size to ensure it did not impede CCTV views so that visitors and residents were safe.
Well, that's a pretty inventive excuse, I'll give 'em that!

I wonder if the Basingbroke and Meane Borough Council stood on the Museum steps and sang this charming refrain?
ReplyDeleteI do hope that was repeated Canon form.
Then off home or to some cheery hostelry for toasted muffins, mulled ale, and mutually agreeable expenses penned with ye olde special purchase quills.
Then on Christmas Eve there will be a ring of plod cars circling the tree in silence, so that naughty words can be recorded for use in later trials, depending on ethnicity of the utterer.
Of course if some reckless gran should reach out to hang some suspicious object like a cracker decoration, the cop cars will immediately stop and occupants will go into full SWAT mode.
Ho,Ho,Ho. Tis the season to be jolly. Aye,right.
Dear Julia, Thylocosmilus, thank you for all your issues.
You keep a lot of us sane and even more wise.
Keep your blowtorch and poker ready.
For the wine of course.
When you consider the cost of the tree, the security fencing, the decorations, and the electricity, is it any wonder the local council tax is increasing by, at least, 5%. I think it's time the local residents consider who to vote for, next local elections. Unfortunately, these numpties are not alone. We are governed, all across the country, by morons.

"We are governed, all across the country, by morons."
Ain't that the truth, sadly...🙄
