True story: We knew a lady who had problems with her feet and went for surgery to have it remedied. In the course of the surgery they removed, then reattached, both of her big toes: problem solved. In the course of further foot problems about fifteen years later it was discovered that the original surgeons had swopped her left and right toes over.
It struck me later that that is a 21st century political analogy: left or right, what you get is much the same.
