By which I mean, 'shooting themselves in the foot'!
The officer, who is attached to the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Firearms Command, was taking part in a training exercise at Fingringhoe Ranges, near Colchester, Essex.
Few details have been released about the incident although the Met said 'no other officers were directly involved'.
It's no surprise, is it, really?
"Fingringhoe Ranges".
ReplyDeleteThere's your problem: he should have gone to "Blowawaybaddies Ranges" further down the road...
Presumably he shot himself in the foot which would be typical of those idiots.
ReplyDeleteI was a qualified range instructor in a Police Force far, far away (but which was still under British rule then). I know for a definite fact that there is absolutely no such thing as an "accidental discharge" of a weapon. There is only absolute idiocy and total neglect of each and every rule of fire-arms handling. Whoever this wounded Constable is he/she should be dismissed immediately.
ReplyDeleteYou would trust plod with a sharp pencil?

Indeed! At least no-one else was shot....this time!
" I know for a definite fact that there is absolutely no such thing as an "accidental discharge" of a weapon. "
Always act as if the gin is loaded even if you think it isn't. It's not a hard rule to follow.
"You would trust plod with a sharp pencil?"
That combined with a notebook is probably their most deadly weapon these days. Especially if you want to cross the road in London while looking Jewish.
