We Will Remember Them...

Even if this year, thanks to the relentless march of identity politics, the Legion has come a bit of a cropper. and allowed its poison to taint this day.

So this year, instead of the Legion's appeal, I have found a better cause to support.

The flowers left thick at nightfall in the wood,
This Eastertide call into mind the men,
Now far from home, who, with their sweethearts,
should Have gathered them and will do never again.

In Memoriam (Easter 1915) by Edward Thomas

  1. I probably write this every year but those hero's died so this country could be invaded by vermin many years later. We kept the might of Germany out and now we have surrendered to an invasion by dinghys on a daily basis. I really despair as to our future.

  3. I don't mind wearing a poppy but I don't support the British Legion as a charity. This seems a good alternative

  4. What a pity they don’t just stick to poppies unadorned with extra embellishments.

It'll be interesting to see if they aacknowledge a drop in donations...

Pleased to say I didn't see a single one of the new abominations 'in the wild'.
