I need more context here. Who was it who supposedly said that aliens were eating dogs and cats? Was this said as a joke? If it was supposedly Trump, the chances are that he never said it at all and his detractors just made it up.
OK, so we're talking illegal aliens not beings from another planet. Trump repeated the story that some illegal immigrants have been eating people's pets and his opponents think that this is ridiculous. You know that if it was actually true the media would deny it and do everything in their power to prevent the story coming out. True or not, it isn't totally implausible. It is also pretty low on a list of priorities for decisions about voting.
