I read, some time ago, that Dolly wrote that song for country singer Porter Waggoner, when she decided to go out on her own after being on his tv show, which started her career. It was said to be more of a respectful relationship rather than a romantic one. Unfortunately, it didn't stop him suing her. Understand she is currently ill. Hope she gets well soon.
