Demonstrators clashed and police made 11 arrests amid protests in London on the anniversary of the October 7 attacks on Israel.
Only 11?
Five people were arrested for inciting racial hatred after shouting and chanting slogans calling for “intifada” were heard at what police described as a “spontaneous protest” outside the Board of Deputies in Camden on Wednesday.
And they called it that because of the criticism of them for failing to ban the main march - as if anyone who has seen how the uk Police cower when faced with Muslim agression thought they would.
The Met imposed strict conditions on the central London pro-Palestine march, including requiring the group to form up at Lincoln’s Inn Fields by 12.30pm, take a set route to Russell Square, and complete the rally by 2pm.The Metropolitan Police said the force could not ban a protest planned in the capital but repeated a plea to demonstrators to not go ahead with it.
Funny, because they have no issues banning marches they don't like.
Later, the Met Police said: “We appreciate that some will think officers should have taken more robust action against protesters wearing face coverings. “During the march earlier, officers engaged with a large number of protesters to inform them of an order in place under Section 60AA of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act requiring them to remove face coverings.During the student march, officers made one arrest under Section 60AA for failing to remove a face covering when required by an officer.
Once they would have got away with this, as most peaple onlt read newspapers, but now everyone has social media and we can see in livestream and full colour just how weak and ineffectual they are.
Education Secretary Lucy Powell has called on students planning to protest on university campuses “to show compassion and respect for others by moving it” to another date.
Waste of time expecting it from students who probably can't even spell it.
