They Drown Horses, Don't They?

Police are hunting a gang of thugs who deliberately drowned a pony by pushing it into a lake.

Horrified onlookers spotted the group of 12 men and boys forcing the two-year-old animal and its trap into the 8ft-deep water.

Officers are also investigating reports the yobs used sticks to beat the piebald cob pony as it tried desperately to haul itself out of Hawley Lake, near Farnborough, Hampshire.
*speechless*

No wonder even their own kind don't want to flock with them...

  1. How do they know it was 'travellers' according to the BBC it was just a group of unidentified men with their horse and traps. I'm sure many people go out horse drowning on a Sunday, Shame on you Julia for reinforcing this negative stereotype.

    (takes tongue out of cheek)

  2. And when they catch these motherless and soulless c*nts they should be dipped in acidified concrete which is then left to set before they are made to suffer the same fate as that poor horse. No polluting of any lakes though. The nearest sewage farm will do.

  3. They probably got a council grant or lottery funding to do it because it was nothing to do with killing an old horse (they all have shotguns don't they). If you all weren't so biased then you'd actually know its part of their religion..harks back to pagan celtic sacrifices. Nowadays of course it's not a pagan water deity they sacrifice a war horse and chariot to but, usually, Our Lady Mary of The Lake.

Free practice of Religion is enshrined in the Human Rights Act.

  4. simply un fucking believable. i don't care who they are, why? i can't even begin to imagine the panic and suffering.

that's it I going, going down there to find the fekless, cruel, inhuman, evil, sick fucks that did this and slowly wring the very life out of their scrawny cunting necks!

  5. no, I'll sit on their chest and then push a pencil bit by bit into each eye ball recording the screams so i can play it to the next......

  7. a hose pipe up their backside then feed barbed wire up removing the pipe to leave a metre of said wire with no hope of removal without a painfull and bloody death.

@Mike - that reads as if you've had practice at this!

Why couldn't they just sell it for pet food?

Why didn't the BBC report this properly?

Why are these fucking people even in the country?

    Etc., etc....

  10. i knew it had come from some book or film or something but was told it by someone else over a pint while discussing the most horrific tortures we had heard of. No matter, the people who did this deserve all of the above and more, i suggest administering drugs to avoid unconsiousness

  11. and Rob, I agree, just shoot the fucking thing if you've absolutly got some grudge but drive a pony attached to a trap into water, come on there is simply no reason.

These people ould only have (illegal) shotguns, with cheap cartridges (reloads?) and a deep need to be quiet. The mind horripilates...

Turning them loose seems an obvious solution, too...

  13. A simple call to police marksmen surely offered a humane solution.

    Oh, wait a minute......

  15. What strikes me most about the horse killing story here is they committed such an act of appalling cruelty in broad daylightin front of witnesses.

This tells us loud and clear they do NOT give a f*ck...will do what they like when they like...and no one better dare try to stop them. Wonder where they got that idea from ??

Catch them and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law..and Then Some.

As for the other story...Chris Rock once commented it was the n****** that gave coloured people a bad name...my own observation is that it's scousers who give Liverpudlians a bad name...so evidently travellers have their own version of this saying.

    *P.S.what does H/T mean ?

  17. Tattyfalarr, it means Julia is noting we brought it to her attn.

I am sooooooooooooooooo angry about the pony story. Having been responsible for horses I know how much they rely on and trust humans to treat them with respect.

This is up there with adults preying on children as far as I'm concerned.

  18. @Lynne. Like the idea but the sewage might complain. If you want to chuck them in a lake I'd suggest one of the ones that hasn't had water in for thousands of years - they tend to be hot, very dry and long, long way on foot from the nearest tap. Plus if you chuck them in from high enough they'll break something when they hit the 'surface'.

  20. I note this hasn't gained as much traction as the 'cat in bin for short while' story.

In fact it hasn't even made the Guardian at all.

Whatever can the difference be ?

  21. Unfortunately, cruelty to horses is not confined to "travellers". I have heard recently (from a friend involved in horse rescues) of terrible suffering inflicted by farmers & stud owners on their horses: some emaciated by long-term starvation, some left with broken bones for weeks, some with open sores untreated and festering. Often it begins with financial hardship, but how anyone can act in such a disgusting and inhumane way is truly baffling.

    Those bloody Mennonites...

"... its part of their religion..harks back to pagan celtic sacrifices."

Now, there's an idea! Every time a chav dies, we slaughter his pitbull and bury it with him to protect him in the afterlife!

    And his Ford Escort.

    Heh!

"What strikes me most about the horse killing story here is they committed such an act of appalling cruelty in broad daylightin front of witnesses."

Yes, me too. Well, treat people as 'untouchables', and there'll be consequences...

Well, if they turn out to be a bunch of bank workers, all bets are off!

"Often it begins with financial hardship, but how anyone can act in such a disgusting and inhumane way is truly baffling."

There's been a rash of horse and pony-related cruelty stories in the local news lately.

    Mike,

would you like to borrow my ClueFish?

Take a toothpick, lightly carve little 'fins' laterally in one direction only, introduce it to the urethra of your pal. The fins you carved ensure that the ClueFish gradually makes his way upstream.

  26. @Twenty_Rothmans sounds interesting but I think, hope the conversation re sickest tortures was borne of reading books and watching films not personal experience. I could be wrong of course and can only realy speak for myself. So while in my dreams I would love to see that the sick fucks that put the ponies through their ordeal live a short and painful life, I is never gunna do it. In fact if I am realy honest it probably would give me no pleasure at all to discover that even these sick fucks were tortured, caught, stopped from doing it again and punished humanely but consumately fine. Never gunna happen though is it?!?

  27. What made me so angry is that whatever the reason why drown them like that?!?!

    Mike,

the ClueFish is merely imitating Mother Nature:

Someone with a much better grasp of what torture is (Leg Iron) referred us to Death by Spoon a couple of weeks ago.

I vote we do it the other way round...every time a pitbull dies...
