"This is a house of simple purity."

Oh, dear, Yasmin's off on one:
Last week I once again condemned the burkha and will do so till the end of my days. By that time, with the unstoppable rise and rise of Wahhabi Islam, they will probably have incarcerated me in black polyester and turned off my voice.
Really? Cool! Who said Muslim extremism will have no benefits at all..?

But I digress.

Yasmin has cracked it at last. She knows what causes terrorism; the debauchery of the West. Of course…
On blogs now thought to be written by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian accused of trying to blow up a plane over Detroit, you are given the impression from news reports that he was a lonely boy, unhappy with his peers who drank and partied. At university he apparently cut himself off, tried to hold on to Islamic Puritanism in a country of no shame, no restraint. Millions of Britons of all backgrounds are alarmed by the dissipation and debauchery that now defines Britain.
Ummm, if Britain is such a hotbed of sin and debauchery, perhaps you might ask yourself why he chose to study here?

Isn’t there some university in some Islamic hellhole country somewhere that offers advanced underpant-ignition?
For Umar Farouk and many other Muslim men like him, living in such a landscape is literally intolerable.
Well, why is he here then? Why are any of them here if they find it so intolerable?

Heathrow’s thataway *points* Don’t let the door hit you on the way out…

But you see, as a mere man, he can’t really be blamed, poor love:
You could make a movie, a Taxi Driver for our times, about just such an anti-hero, the hormonal male who is expected to live a life of total abstinence in the middle of licentiousness.
But in case you begin to wonder if the Yazmonster has been replaced by Blackadder’s Puritan aunt, she hastens to declare that she isn’t excusing their deranged beliefs, oh no…
I cannot stand these false virtues and self-reverential pieties nor am I pleading on behalf of screwed-up men who would murder us naming Allah. I am saying that the collapse of all restraint in our societies is breeding sicknesses and madness, and may be pushing some Muslims to the edge of reason.
…before, that is, excusing them.

And they pay her for this drivel?
Non-Muslims are as concerned about social nihilism, and increasingly so. A list was sent home to the parents of girls at a middle-class school in London last week sternly reminding non-uniformed sixth-formers that there were still rules of decorum to follow. A list followed of garments henceforth disallowed: no tops that show the midriff or cleavage, no tight mini-skirts, no underwear showing, no clothes with holes in them, etc, etc.

Do parents and their teenagers think such wanton wear is OK for school?
Not all of them, no.

You know, Yaz, just like not all Muslims are raving lunatics…
In an alarmingly short time, the nation has gone from Fifties uprightness to public striptease, even in schools. We mothers of teenagers who can't bear this milieu are trying to do the impossible – to somehow let our born-free children find themselves and define their futures while holding them back protectively from the debauchery of modern British life.
Wow, what a picture she paints. One would almost think it's impossible to study at university without having boobies thrust in your face and booze poured down your throat. Certainly, some seem to take to it like a duck to water...

Didn’t she come to the West for the freedom it offered? Is there no choice for people?
The word that comes up all the time is "choice", but one has to ask what choice is there, really, when a pushy popular culture tells females as young as eight that they are creatures of the flesh which they must tame and give over to the public gaze and touch.
Ah, right. There is, but there isn’t. The youth are as helpless before rampant commercialism as Muslim men are before a shapely hint of chin.

Life is so much simpler when someone else decides everything for you, and you consequently have no choices to make, I suppose…

Still, maybe she's simply angling for a job with the Cameroonies?
With things falling apart and ethical compasses broken, you can see why so many are turning to self-discipline and certainties in an age of chaos. Islamic Stalinism is set to grow stronger. A society in a state of perpetual abandon cannot survive that onslaught. We need to sober up and see what we have become.
‘We’ do, do we? A bit free with the Royal ‘We’ there, Yaz…

A commenter points out that this reads like a ‘Daily Mail’ ‘We’re all going to the dogs!’ editorial. Give it time, it’ll probably be one, with a few amendments.

Might as well make this drivel pay twice, eh, Yaz?

Laban has this one too, and notes that what passed for 'licentiousness' in 1940s USA was shocking Muslims even then...

  1. Isn’t there some university in some Islamic hellhole country somewhere that offers advanced underpant-ignition? - - Beautiful!

Having listened to cuddly old Anjem Choudary AGAIN on the Today Programme and read the reports of the 'conviction' of the Luton 7, those defenders of free speech, those brave warriors of ISS-LAAAM, moose-slim freedom fighters I can only ask WTF are the DSS doing about investigation their respective benefit claims.

AS for Alibaba Broon - the woman is clearly as mad as a box of frogs! And she still gets paid to write such arse!

  2. I see. In the name of 'diversity', I'm not allowed to have a drink because it might hurt the FEEWINGS of some Islamist fanatic.

  3. I read Yasmin's article, and I was expecting her to start blaming children for looking so god-damn fuckable that paedophiles find it impossible to keep their hands off of them. Don't we all know that paedophiles find it intolerable living in a society with so many attractive children!? We must go around and scar the little ones, so that the weak may not be tempted!

  4. Agreed. This constant self-immolation of Britain is tedious and pointless*. I quite like it here, all things considered, and if Johnny Foreigner doesn't, he can always go back to Sangatte or something.

    * Well, it's not actually. It gives them an excuse to go round banning and regulating stuff and pandering to minorities, apologising for terrorism etc.

  6. The problem with YAB is that even when her writing contains the germ of a good point, it is couched in so much hectoring miserableness that it gets lost. There is too much licentiousness in the modern world. Children are prematurely sexualised. But only one segment of the population seems to see that as a justification to immolate themselves and others. There are no Amish suicide bombers, so even if it were a desirable thing for us to rein it in a bit, the need to avoid getting blown to smithereens by some pious mediaevalist should not be the impetus (and as Laban points out, even if we were to dial things back to Victorian levels of prudish gentility, they'd still hate us.) The one surefire cure for Islamic suicide bombers is for Muslims to not blow themselves up.

  7. btw Mark it is a bit rubbish in Great Britain or we wouldn't be bothering to wine on about it here soooo much.

Still I have to agree there is the odd place that fills my soul with peace and wonder and that is...................flying 400 mph upside down through Gordale Scar in Yorkshire. Bliss

  8. How are children prematurely sexualised? They play with themselves; we play with our selves sexually in the womb.

It is not the responsibility of children to not have sex with adults.

It should be allowed and it is not sinful for children to explore themselves. And discuss.

Adults who cannot control their urges need to be controlled. Take note Muslim, Christian, crazy suicide bombers.

A 12yr old girl in make-up looks like a clown or Robert Smith to me.

Good point. Thay finally got Capone on tax evasion, after all.

"I read Yasmin's article, and I was expecting her to start blaming children for looking so god-damn fuckable that paedophiles find it impossible to keep their hands off of them."

Indeed. Once you go down this road, you can't logically stop, can you?

"The problem with YAB is that even when her writing contains the germ of a good point, it is couched in so much hectoring miserableness that it gets lost."

She certainly isn't the best columnist in the world, is she?
