Kevin Carlin, 32, is protesting the innocence of his girlfriend, Donna Connolly, who has been jailed for four years for her part in the wide-reaching plot.Ooooh, burn...
He made his protests at their home in Norwich Avenue, Southend, in front of a widescreen television, Sky HD box and two computers. A brand new Renault Clio was parked outside.
So, how does this chap square her conviction with his protestations of her innocence?
He said: “She never made a dodgy claim. She let other people use her bank account and she would pay the people out of a banker’s draft.Well, that's not the most unlikely story I ever...
“It was a conspiracy by other people involved.”
Oh. who am I kidding! Yes. Yes, it is.
It is quickly coming to a situation in the UK where dishonesty and corruption is the norm and law abiding citizens are going to be shunned by the rest of society.
ReplyDeleteIn the book "The Welfare State We're In" it says the first victim of the welfare state is honesty...
ReplyDeleteHow true.
Apologies for the repeats you must have thought you had tuned into the BBC.
ReplyDeleteNot my fault I hope and believe.

ReplyDeletePS, this is me being "Dave", which is mainly repeats from the BBC.
Broken Society, Broken Society, Broken Society.
ReplyDeleteHow many times do I have to repeat it?
Well, that's not the most unlikely story I ever...
ReplyDeleteI think the problem with our lad is stupidity. Presumably on the same logic he would argue that a fence never steals.
"It is quickly coming to a situation in the UK where dishonesty and corruption is the norm..."
ReplyDeleteWe maybe shouldn't be so surprised at things like the expenses scandal...
"How true."
It would appears so, wouldn't it?
"Apologies for the repeats you must have thought you had tuned into the BBC."
