MONA Thwarted By Victim's Statement...

Martin Thompson, 53, and son Edward, 18, suffered serious injuries on their driveway after confronting three youths whose target had knocked on their front door begging for help.

Edward, a student, was left critically ill with a punctured lung but was yesterday said to be improving.
'Youths'..?
Neighbourhood Inspector for West Heath, Vanessa Eyles, said: 'This is a horrific, unprovoked attack on a public-spirited father and son who were trying to stop trouble.

'Our thoughts are with their family at this time. We would urge anyone with information to come forward.'
Which is why you've issued descriptions of the men you are seeking, right? No?

Well, over to the victims, then:
Mr Thompson said: ‘It was just a quiet night in. I heard this kerfuffle outside and there was banging on my door.

An Asian youth came running into the house, shouting, “shut the door, they’re going to stab me”. He was obviously terrified.

Three black people came to the top of the drive, and I said, “he’s in with me now, go away”. But they said, “no”, and they wanted to stab him because he has threatened to stab someone else.
I see...
His father, who suffered stab wounds to the torso, said the incident in West Heath, Birmingham, would make him ‘think twice’ about acting as a Good Samaritan.
It'd make me think twice about living in West Heath, Birmingham...

Perhaps he should think about talking to niggers with knives?

Slam the door, call plod and if one of them tries to break in then you tell him off sternly while, of course, bearing in mind that he is too only a victim of a racist society and trying to murder people is actually a cry for help.

  2. Brummieland seems a wild and dangerous place.

  3. White man stabbed while intervening in fight between aliens. A lesson here for our foreign policy perhaps.

  4. West Heath isn't actually a bad spot. It's right on the edges of Brum near some local beauty spots and is semi-rural at the outskirts.

Its pretty much respectable, white working-class territory. Pub rough rather than gun rough. According to the wiki stats for the wider Northfield ward only around 3% of the population is black or Pakistani.

If Lozells style "gang-related" shenanigans have spread there, then there isn't much hope.

@ SBC ..Top drills, that man !

    @ Gordo .. Nail on head !

If the guy concerned is a retired Copper, one can only wonder why he didn't know better .. ?

Surely, if he had to wear an anti-stab vest when he was a Copper, did he assume that being retired made him , or his family any less vulnerable ?

  6. If he was mad enough to open the door to the first bloke (bearing in mind in may have been an elaborate ruse to gain entry), then surely the correct procedure would be to slam the door firmly shut ASAP and maybe ring the police, or Max Clifford or somebody.

  7. There's being a good samaritan, and then there's being a total fecking idiot.

    Anyway, as it's Mona-day, here's another one:

  10. I read the link about the PC getting caught stealing in Birmingham. They would only set up a sting like that to target someone they already suspected, they wouldn't do it at random due to cost and resources.
    He's toast...

  11. Well, since you ask Mr Viking :

"African Caribbean people are also more likely to be held under a section of the Mental Health Act and are more likely to receive medication rather than be offered therapies such as psychotherapy. They are also over-represented in Special Hospitals, secure institutions, medium secure units and prisons."

    Fascinating stuff :

    :D

"West Heath isn't actually a bad spot. It's right on the edges of Brum near some local beauty spots and is semi-rural at the outskirts."

Perhaps that's the reason for this. An out-of-the-way place to settle scores, perhaps?

"Surely, if he had to wear an anti-stab vest when he was a Copper, did he assume that being retired made him , or his family any less vulnerable ?"

Good point! Perhaps it's just reflex, forgetting you no longer have backup?

    "Anyway, as it's Mona-day, here's another one"

Mmm, I've been following that case with great interest...

  14. "And again"

As Jaded points out, they must have suspected in the first place. Still, at least the HR department's obsession with increasing diversity targets is keeping PSD in a job!

"They are also over-represented in Special Hospitals, secure institutions, medium secure units and prisons."

That often crops up in CiF columns as another example of 'institutional racism', believe it or not!

  15. Ummm.....West Heath semi-rural? Well, don't think 'The Archers' or 'Emmerdale'.
I've just moved out of Brum after 20 years, its starting to become unliveable. The point about Brum, as about all cities, is that the 'nice' areas are only ten or 15 mins drive from the 'nasty' areas.

And, by extension, there are few places in the uk that aren't w/in an hour or so's drive of a city.
You think these people don't have access to (somebody else's) cars?

  16. Bobo,

I just meant that West Heath isn't Lozells or Aston. And yeah, fair point that scum travels as easily as anyone else.
