The Name Of The Judge Doesn’t Fill Me With Confidence…

A teenager who lured two vulnerable girls to a squalid house in Accrington so three men could rape them is facing jail.

Stephanie Knight, 19, sobbed in the dock today as a jury found her guilty of the sex plot after a three-week trial at Burnley Crown Court.

Her co-defendants Amjad Hussain, 34, his brother Shahid Hussain, 39, and Tanveer Butt, 39 were all convicted of rape charges.
Oooh, I’ve been waiting for this trial to conclude, so now I can comment on it.

Wait, what’s this?

Hmmm, never seen that after a trial before..

They were warned by judge Beverley Lunt that they faced long prison sentences.
By whom?!?

Oh, dear. This doesn’t bode well.

  1. Stephanie Knight sounds, er, white. The Hussains and the Butt chap sound, um, less so.

I'm all for cultural diversity, etc, but my question would be: what is a non-asian girl doing with people like them? What was in it for her?

I admit I utterly disagree with the reprehensible view that normal womenfolk should avoid muslim males, but it makes you think...

That'd be 'Ezekiel', right? Only biblical name among the lot.

    I claim my ₤5 prize.

At many papers, it's SOP to disable comments on court stories, to avoid commenters landing you in the crap over contempt-of-court issues.

Ezekiel it is by neat elimination, Sir. I was completely in the dark.

  6. Having looked at the picture of Stephanie Knight, she should not be confused with the glamour model of the same name.

The picture in the Daily Mail is worth looking at, though, because it tells such a terrible story about youth in Britain. It is Dickensian in its degradation.

@Robert - how is it contempt of court? The trial is over. It is, however, likely that they don't want too many people drawing the obvious conclusions and saying so locally.

The comments at the Mail ran to 226, a few of which are still visible. Then the paper got worried and obscured them.

This is the elephant in the room. Literally in Stephanie Knight's case.

Seriously ? Why ? I live in one of the oldest multiracial areas this country can boast yet I was educated by my mother that males of different races are to be avoided and the evidenced and proven reasons of so-called culture as to why.

As she was educated by her mother before her ...and her mother before her...and her mother before her ad infinitum.

As my daughter is by me.

Knowledge is power and it's what you do with that knowledge that counts.. To be uneducated in matters that put your life at risk is stupid at best...suicidal at worst.

The case may be over, but there may be appeals.
The SOP that I mentioned is very much a 'playing safe' position, especially on smaller papers that simply don't have the resources to keep the comments properly monitored.
I accept that the Daily Mail is far from a small paper, although times are tight throught the industry; I also have no idea of what their web policies are.

Henry Smith. None of the others are travellers...

The case may be over, but there may be appeals.

Or there may be other charges if the 'woman' has done this before.

Drugs, alcohol, or what she couldn't get anywhere else - attention?

    "Spot the odd man out..."

    Indeed!

"At many papers, it's SOP to disable comments on court stories, to avoid commenters landing you in the crap over contempt-of-court issues."

Oh, indeed. But that's usually while the trial is ongoing. Not once it's finished, as WoaR points out.

"The case may be over, but there may be appeals."

That would mean NEVER allowing comments. I think it's more likely, as Blueknight suggests, there are other charges being considered.

  11. Oh not her again. Christ knows I'm not one for second guessing the judiciary but with her history I wouldn't have much faith in her ability to judge a pigeon race.
