Charity Begins At …. Errr, ‘Home’….

A charity head being investigated over alleged misuse of public funds and nepotism is believed to be still in post — despite a recommendation he should be suspended.
What? How could this possibly be allo…

Ah:
The recommendation in the independent report, drawn up following concerns at the management of All Wales Ethnic Minorities Association
Say no more!
…comes after its chief executive Naz Malik was alleged to have paid off personal credit card debt of more than £9,000 with Awema money as "an advance on future expenses", and that he should be "suspended immediately, pending a disciplinary inquiry and hearing".
Well, that’s the thing with recommendations. You don’t have to take them.
It is also alleged he failed to declare an interest when pay rises for his daughter Tegwen Malik, the board's operations manager, was reported to the board.

The report found she had been appointed to her job in 2008 despite concerns the post "wasn't properly advertised, and she was the only candidate interviewed".
Bringing the hiring practices of the Third World to Wales. Who knew that counted as ‘charitable works’?
The charity's legal advisors concluded: "there appears to be sufficient evidence ...to support an allegation of gross misconduct on the part of Naz Malik", and such a suspension would be "appropriate". The solicitors report suggests notifying police. The Welsh Government is investigating allegations.
Not the police? Why not?
Since the allegations against Mr Malik arose, seven trustees have resigned from their posts, and its whistleblowing finance director, Saquib Zia, who revealed the alleged irregularities, has been suspended from his job by the chair Dr Austin.
Hmmm, one to watch…

  4. Ha! What a delightful story! It epitomises the whole ethos of the "multicultural society", with all the fawning, back-scratching, nepotistic hypocrisy that it involves.
