The Only People Allowed To Scare Your Children Is…Us!

A headteacher has defended his actions after a religious row erupted at a Devon school where a five-year- old girl told a classmate she would "go to hell" if she did not believe in God.

The youngster, a pupil at Landscore Primary School, Threshers, in Crediton, complained to her mother after she was told off for the comment.
And just why was she told off?
Mr Read defended the school's treatment of the matter and said they encouraged all children to "think independently", but would not condone one child "frightening" another.
Well, no. I mean, that’d be taking the teachers’ tiny pleasures away from them, clearly!

"but would not condone one child "frightening" another" ...

So presumably, the spooky type tales which kids delight in telling one another are a definite "No-No" in this school ?

How fortunate this headteacher must be, if the worst problem he has to confront, is kids making obviously childish remarks ?

  2. Have a look at the date on the top of the linked report - 2009. This is a very old story which for some reason had muppets starting the thread up again to criticise Muslims. I agree with your sentiments, but this is just regurgitation

  3. So will this be the end of teachers frightening kids into knickers wetting mode with the CAGW scam?

  4. So if the supposed frightened child has no concept of Hell or God (as seems very likely to me) what is it frightened of?

Or is this just the usual "on behalf of" control freakery of the Educational establishment again?

Well, indeed! Lucky he isn't working in Croydon... ;)

" This is a very old story..."

Yes, but it was the comments of the teacher that drew my attention more than the subject matter, plus the recent 'cross kerfuffle'.

And it's not 'having a go at Muslims' to enquire why they should receive privileges that Christians do not...

    I'm betting....no!

    Undoubtedly!
