Well, It’s Certainly A Novel Excuse!

Barry Hunt was caught with the drugs after police raided his home in Watchill Avenue, Highbridge, on two occasions.

Officers also found other items indicating someone selling drugs including digital scales, cling film and cash.

Hunt, 45, later pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to supply.
Hunt is deaf, which he clearly hoped would be an unbeatable ‘get out of jail free’ card.
Mr Penny said the Crown had accepted a basis of plea from Hunt saying he felt vulnerable because of his disability and had started using drugs to impress people.
Not sure how impressive it is if your drug dealer can’t hear the Drugs Squad coming, but still…
Tabitha Macfarlane, defending, said Hunt had struggled with his disability since he was a child.

"He was obtaining drugs on behalf of people who did not want to run the risk of being detected," she said.

"He was making no profit. He says the police raids on his home were the best thing that could have happened to him because it is now left well alone by the drugs community."
A drug dealer making no profit? Pull the other one love, it’s got bells on!

  1. No doubt some of this not-for-profit drug-dealing is going on across the road - must be a franchise operation!

Probably has higher entry requirements than McDonalds! You don't, after all, need to add up or work out change there...

Come to think of it, so do I... ;)
