“Recently, there’ve been more and more people walking them without a lead on and the way they respond when I ask them to put it on a lead makes me think I’m the one that’s in the wrong.”Well, don't ask! Do what the law entitles you to do - and what your neighbour did - and shoot the damn things!
I'd be quite happy to hear you used the other barrel on the idiot at the other end of the leash too...
The National Farmers Union has reported a rise in the number of similar incidents across Lancashire over the last three years.
A spokesman said: “There are a lot of sheep being butchered in the field at the moment and our members are losing animals and money through something that’s completely avoidable.
“People need to realise that if you let your dog off the lead in rural areas then you’re putting sheep at risk, your dog, and yourself at risk from being trampled if there are cows with calves around.”Quite. Don't want to become one of Mark Wadsworth's statistics, do you? Or take Fido home in a body bag?
I knew an old farmer who did just that.
ReplyDeleteMuch blubbing from the owner ensued. But he had been warned and decided to be a smart arse.

XX take Fido home in a body bag XX
ReplyDeleteYou owe me a new keyboard!! Just spat a mouthfull of beer over this one!
Some may prefer to mince the owner and provide Fido with a doggie-bag.
ReplyDelete@ Fuehrer
ReplyDeleteThose all too frequent keyboard accidents could be minimised with a feeding bag - and I am not referring to the woman who brings your meals. XX
Oh, you are SO witty Melvyn.
ReplyDeleteMain problem is, you are possibly correct. :-)
"But he had been warned and decided to be a smart arse."
ReplyDeleteShame he didn't get the other barrel then...
