Tributes have been paid by the friends of Bromley College student Marie Steadman, who died last week from …A rare disease? A horrible accident?
… a suspected drug overdose.Oh. Time for this again:
But maybe I shouldn't be so misanthropic? Maybe a bright star really has left the firmament, one destined to do great thi...
The teenager was studying art and design at the Orpington campus of Bromley College.*searches for smaller violin*
I don't know what possessed me to waste 5 minutes of my afternoon skimming through the comments to the article. But incase anyone didn't know already the girl was, apparently, an angel, nay a saint, who managed to die from a drugs overdose without never having taken drugs...and only SHAMEFUL, cruel Trolls would suggest otherwise and their OFFENSIVE comments MUST BE removed.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the girl was downwind of a smoker?
Each to their own. Pass me the bigger violin though. I lost a friend to suicide when he was 21. Never really understood why he did it though his parents divorce may have contributed. A few weeks beforehand he got caught shoplifting. Stupid as he actually had the money on him to pay for it.
ReplyDeleteWhatever inner demons and faults he had as a person, he was loved as a friend and i miss him.
Personally, i have sympathy for the womans friends and family but i respect your right to feel none.
"To the black folks she was just a crazy nigger...."
ReplyDeleteTo slightly misquote Bob Dylan.
Or is she ANOTHER one that has spent to much time on the sunbead?
" without never having taken drugs"
ReplyDeleteThat sentence mine has been bugging me all afternoon...it IS a double negative innit?
*hopes some passing Grammarian will confirm his diagnosis*
Anyways it says something about the girl when the commonest tribute is that she had an 'amazing smile'-which is probably code for 'manically grinning crack whore'. I mean, how bereft of positive attributes must the girl have been if all they can find to say is that she smiled well?
XX " without never having taken drugs"

A typical British school-boy mistake ("School.boy meaning 5 to 10 years old)
Correctly written it SHOULD read;
"Without ever having taken drugs."
See the difference?
They have similar problems with the usage of "Two times," and "Twice."
It comes from having an I.Q lower than their shoe size.
As this young woman seems to have lead such a blameless life, and had such supportive friends as well as a close and loving family, I am, well, just a tad surprised that she ends up on a slab in the morgue having overdosed with what would seem to be a lethal drug overdose.
ReplyDeleteIts almost like 'you cannot be partly pregnant'; you either are, or you are not.
Seems to me that she did this to herself, despite all the warnings, despite all the Government slogans, etc., seems as though she just knew what was best!
"Perhaps the girl was downwind of a smoker?"
ReplyDeleteHeh!
"Pass me the bigger violin though. I lost a friend to suicide when he was 21."
We don't know that this was deliberate - could just as easily been getting high & miscalculated!
