RSPCA officers found the horse near the Smite Caravan Site at about 5.25pm on Wednesday, February 12.
It was wearing a blue nylon head collar which had become so tight it had cut into its nose right down to the nasal bone.
The collar was also restricting its breathing and eating so it had become extremely thin.
It is thought that it had been in the condition for some time.
The RSPCA officers called a vet to the scene who made the decision to put the animal to sleep due to the extent of its injuries.
Shocking, I’m sure you’ll agree. Will the mighty arm of the justice system stop searching the Internet for people being mean on Twitter long enough to do something about it?
A spokesman from West Mercia Police said officers did not attend the scene as they were satisfied the RSPCA officers and the vet had it under control.
She added no arrests had been made as a result of the incident and the investigation was being handled by the RSPCA.
That’s a ‘no’ then…
Yellow spineless bent cocksuckers.
ReplyDeleteThink that covered it....
Why would the Police/RSPCA bother hunting down and actually confronting/punishing the people that think nothing of treating animals like this (it's not just horses, you'd be amazed how many 'travellers' just happen to stumble upon abandoned pedigree dogs, on the roadside, that they can't sell on so have to abuse/mistreat/abandon etc). Why would the Police/RSPCA bother actually trying to rescue animals like this before they are beyond saving?. The answer is simple. There are at least a million, hard hearted, abusive, home owning, lonely, law abiding OAP's that can quite easily be raided, arrested, hounded through the courts and scared half to death because they didn't flea their cat/dog last month. They will almost always offer a cup of tea, and biscuits, and wouldn't dream of attacking anyone with a bit of two by four, even after the local PCSO explains, whilst scoffing his 5th hob-nob, in the warm and the dry of their kitchen, that they are being arrested on charges of animal cruelty and the RSPCA officer, when she has finished her cuppa, and the last hob-nob, ha ha ha, will be taking their 15 year old, much loved pet off to the local vets to be put down (for it's own good).
