Ah, The ‘Thinking Skills’ Course…

…we know what that means, don’t we?
A motorist who was caught drink-driving twice within two weeks has been given a suspended jail sentence.
Nor was it just a simple case of drink driving.
Bolton magistrates heard how Scott Byrne, aged 27, of Woodbridge Drive, Tonge Moor, was stopped driving a VW Golf on Manchester Road, Bolton, on October 11.
He was almost two times over the legal alcohol limit, had no insurance and resisted arrest.
But don’t worry, there’s no danger of any punishment!
Byrne pleaded guilty to all the offences and was sentenced to two months in prison, suspended for two years.
He will also be subject to a 7pm to 7am curfew for 16 weeks and must attend Thinking Skills sessions for six days.
Note that – ‘must attend’. Not ‘complete’, not ‘pass’. He just has to sit there for six sessions!

Ah yes, the "Thinking Skills Course", otherwise known as the "Stick two fingers up at justice" course. No doubt he'll emerge a changed man, rejuvenated and refreshed - well, who wouldn't? Six whole days to catch up on his sleep and all that.

Only Man is arrogant enough to believe that he can take someone that cannot think and turn him into someone that can.

No rational being would attempt this with, say, a beast of the field, a refrigerator, or an ear of corn.

The terrifying thing is that when it comes to polling day, your vote is just as important as the vote of the most stupid person in the land. It's not a reward for endeavour or hard work. And you don't need to attend at thinking skills course before doing so.

The ideal thinking skills course is that 'are you on benefits?' Answer yes, 'well in that case you now need to think how you are going to house and feed yourself because we have stopped them'. Now that might just have an effect of making him think.

I suspect this is another spin-off from the feminising of, well, everything these days. So it's probably Woman!

"Now that might just have an effect of making him think."

    Bring it on!
