*Orders Lifetime Supply Of Popcorn*

Cat, meet pigeons:
Teenagers should be randomly checked for knives on their journey into school …
OUTRAGE! Furious letters to the ‘Indy’ are being written, CiF is mobilising the comment section, clearing the decks for column after column and…

Wait. Who is calling for this?
… the best friend of Stephen Lawrence said today.
*crickets*
Mr Brooks is standing as the Liberal Democrat candidate in tomorrow’s election for mayor of Lewisham.
So, collective punishment and suspecting everyone is liberal now, is it?
A-level student Alim Uddin, 17, died after he went to the Roupell Park estate to collect a bike he had bought. A 16-year-old boy has been charged with his murder.
Today his uncle Absal welcomed the idea of searching pupils for weapons on the way to school. He said: “A lot of people will be saying it’s going too far but I think it’s a good idea.
“It doesn’t matter how much you spend on this or that, a person’s life is priceless. Even if you save just one life it’s worth it.
Really?
Lorraine Dinnigen, whose 14-year-old son Martin was stabbed to death by youths in Holloway seven years ago, disagreed with the idea.
Ms Dinnigen, 46, from Islington, said: “At first I think I thought ‘yes, we need to do all we can to get knives off the street’. Even if it’s setting up knife arches at schools.
“But I’ve thought more about it and I don’t really think it is a good idea, because it’s sending out a message that doesn’t relate to young people. The majority don’t carry knives. It would demonise perfectly innocent ordinary young people.”
Let the infighting begin!

  1. Randomly searched? And if the profile of those searched did not match precisely the demographic profile of the area...?

  2. Is that the same Duwayne (yes, Doo-wayne) Brooks who ran from the scene of the Lawrence killing, changed his story several times to police, and was then awarded a shedload of compo because police were racist enough to suspect HIM of the killing?

Duwayne Brooks the (ex) drug dealer, who presumably has never carried a knife in his life?

    Ian Hills:
Yes, it's the same piece of shit who has a record as long as your arm but who seems to have escaped much jail due to charges of kidnapping, assault etc. being mysteriously dropped. Not that I'm a conspiracy theorist or anything, but I think he was a useful informant at one time and thus' protected' by plod.
Now the limp dums think this tango November is their great hope in Lewisham.

The Dwayne Brooks comments have already been made, ex-drug dealer and generally useless bastard, so just need to signal my agreement.

  6. Another person who has built his career from the death of Stephen Lawrence. He's probably gutted not to be in the House of Lords and having to stand as a lowly mayor.

Ian, you are being too hard on Duwayne Brooks. Why make fun of him if his parents had not mastered spelling by the time he was born?

I am certain that he inherited all the intelligence that his parents had to offer, coupled with an upbringing in a stable, decent family environment to make him a bright star of the British political stage.

It's a testament to the British immigration system, thoroughly checking that somebody can weld something or check a bus ticket or be on the run from a foreign country, or be related to any of the above by birth or sham marriage or otherwise sneak in and lay low long enough until you get amnesty.

They have cracked down and the weld something/bus ticket qualifications no longer apply - the Poles do that.

Even when it does, they squeal!

"Is that the same Duwayne (yes, Doo-wayne) Brooks who ran from the scene of the Lawrence killing, changed his story several times to police, and was then awarded a shedload of compo because police were racist enough to suspect HIM of the killing?"

    Got it in one!

"There's only one way to find out.."

Heh! Sadly for poor old Duwayne, he only managed a third in the Mayoral race.
