And Another PCC Brains Trust Is Heard From...

"There are restrictions on people walking into a bank or filling station wearing a crash helmet, maybe there should be something similar in the countryside."
The old fool doesn't mean you shouldn't wear a crash helmet in the countryside. It's balaclavas that have got him got under the collar:
Mr Surl said: "I received many complaints from families who had nothing to do with the cull who were frightened to leave their homes or go out after dark in case they were confronted by people whose faces were covered."
Tell them to grow a pair then!
"It was one of the nastier elements of the cull. The Police adopted a polite approach so as not to inflame the situation and it’s a pity those who were asked to take off their masks ignored not only the request but also the effect they were having on innocent people and communities."
Better not move to one of our wonderfully diverse inner city areas then...

  1. Another fine example of the waste of millions of pounds that was Big Dave's 'Police & Crime Commissioner' idea.

This is straight from the Ann Barnes training module - "How to waste taxpayers money and make a big numpty of yourself in public'.

Get rid of these useless tossers and all theiri staff and SAVE A FORTUNE!

Policing needs change but AT THE TOP not at the bottom. The trouble is the Acpo, the P&CCs like everything else in British life are all part of the same mindset.

  3. ANOTHER "Oh wemust change the law."

Well, some bad news for the fucking twats, it is already an offence with a power of arrest, to "go abroad during the hours of darkness with the face masked or disguised."

IIRC, "Town police clauses act 1847."

Perhaps they should consult a solicitor before gobbing off.

  4. Furor, I wonder if that law could be used against all those wearing black bin liners in many of the cities?

  5. But I see many people whose appearance would be far less frightening if they were masked...

  6. Ivan. Aye, I have pointed it out a few times where a ban is being considered.

  7. I think that PCCs are a good idea. Instead of the hardly known and even secretive personnel previously we have a high profile figure to be accountable to the public and to whom representations can be made. After all, policing is supposed to be by consent. Trouble is the media decided it was not a good idea and rubbished it comprehensively, so that turnout was very low, which meant some hopeless cases got elected in places. Our PCC in Suffolk is excellent.

  8. Perhaps masks should only be allowed in public if the wearer prominently displays their name and address on the outside of their clothing.

It was a great idea, if only the right people had got in!

    Heh! Now there's an idea...

"Our PCC in Suffolk is excellent. "

See? It's all down to who gets in.
