Want Some Kids? Well, Have ‘em! Other People Will Feed Them For You…

Inspired by the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000, charity Urban Outreach is so concerned about children going hungry during the long summer break that it is mobilising an army of volunteers to make and distribute 1,000 picnic lunches around the borough every weekday.
Words fail me…
The project, named BL14 Lunch, has been put together in just a few weeks as a response to concerns about what happens to the 9,000 children in Bolton who are eligible for free school meals once they are on holiday.
I wonder where this charity is getting its money from? Well, as you might have guessed, it’s mostly from the taxpayer:
”Our funding comes from a variety of sources including Bolton Council, Department of Health, Greater Manchester Community Rehabilitation Service, charitable trusts, local churches, schools and individual supporters.”
The percentage of individual supporters being, I’d imagine, slight…
Children will be able to walk in and request a meal. No proof of entitlement to free school meals will be needed.
Well, this is a car-crash about to happen, then, isn’t it?

  1. Hmm wonder how they'll react if someone complains about non-halal? Assuming they aren't already going down that path...

  2. 'Children will be able to walk in and request a meal.'

That phrase is significant; watch out next Autumn for campaigners and politicians cite the take-up figures as proof that x children in Bolton are so poor and hungry they have been 'forced to ask a charity for food aid'.

  3. IIRC, when I was at school, at least the first couple, up until 74, the wee batards DID get school meals during the holidays.

There were listed schools where the kitchens stayed open over the holidays, and the council kitchens, where they could go and get dinner, at the same price/conditions as during the school year.

When did THAT end, then? And was it just our local authority, or was it wide spread?

  4. They go, Cap-in-hand, to Local and National Government, because the monies there and they know that they can always get some more, because we, the taxpayer, are not allowed to say; "No !"

Feed pigeons = get more pigeons.

Ah well, more money for the parents to buy scratch lottery cards.

An insight into how mentally retarded Labour voters are is how that regime ramped up the price of alcohol and cigarettes - the latter now only legitimately affordable to quite wealthy people.

If these commodities were inexpensive, they could feed their waif-like children.

But then, Labour voters scratch their arses and squeeze their boils in public. And that's just the women.

    Correct!

" But they don't. They give away other people's money."
