RiP Western Freedom Of Speech

#CharlieHebdo's editor Charb, murdered yesterday along with 11 others, including a police officer slain as he lay injured, said in 2012:
"I prefer to die standing than to live on my knees."
Immediately, the left-wing media rose up as one and said.....

 .....

 .....

"They had it coming, really, I mean, one just can't be offensive towards Muslims, can one?"

That is all for today.

  2. At least one Guardianista was mugged by reality ... a comment under one of Black's pieces yesterday:

    "

This changes everything. I can understand the backlash that comes our way because of the wars that we have fought in foreign (Muslim) lands. That was the inevitable blow back. When people used to say to me its because they don't like who we are and how we live I would make the effort to point to the wars, the death and destruction that we have caused elsewhere as to why these people were attacking us. After this though that's just not the case any more. They do hate us for who we are and how we live our lives. This attack clearly shows that.

And where is this heading? It seems each and every day we hear about another terrorist attack thwarted. As the Muslim population in Europe continues to grow, as the police are under more and more stress to cope, as more and more fighters are returning to Europe from the Middle East. How many of these attacks will be successful in their aims? Is this threat to become the norm for us? For how long?

I know that the vast majority of Muslims are peace loving but I worry. I do not wish to be living in a Europe that is under constant threat from Islamic extremists. But this is what is happening and will only get worse in time or? How is this not going to get worse? What have we let ourselves in for?"

Appeasement doesn't work and the only reason to do it, is to rearm, rapidly. Even the 'peaceful ones', want to change the way we live, so don't appease and don't give in. We have two threats, the first the Islamists and the second is the left who want to enforce control. Sod them.

  4. We know what ails us. Most of us know that there is a cure available, although we hesitate to consider implementing it. I'm now at the stage where no pill would be too bitter to swallow.

A vast majority of Germans were peace loving, but a small clique of arseholes soon put paid to THAT, as they got into power.

  6. Given my views on all forms of religion, I guess I'd better go into hiding...

  7. Interesting that today the local village hunters were out in force - not hunting but having target practice, something I have never seen them do in the 20 odd years I've been here.

  9. One understands how the average Roman must have felt as over the years and decades more and more barbarians moved in. That didn't end well for Rome.

  10. Over the last few decades the European and UK media has sneered at "populism", smeared parties such as UKIP and FN as "racist", has ignored the victims of organised Muslim sexual exploitation, and has suppressed any expression of the increasing unease felt by many people at the consequences of mass immigration. Then 12 of their own get the sh*tty end of the stick, and suddenly the media is all about "defending the freedom of speech". This "Je Suis Charlie" posturing is about a struggle to retain control of the narrative, and the increasingly obvious dichotomy at the heart of it, not a change of heart regarding what is "acceptable discourse" in the public sphere. Freedom of speech is not the issue here.

  12. Charlies, yesterday a policewoman shot dead and council worker shot in face, today hostages held in a kosher grocers (2 shot dead by all accounts).

    When will all this end?

I'll tell you when, once the bombs start going off in Tres Chic Cafes and trendy wine bars, university campuses and all the other places the hand wringersand those who seek to justify these acts of barbarism hang out, that's when.

  13. "There are times when I think the Guardian could not sink any lower..."

There's this to be said for them. They always exceed your expectations.

"At least one Guardianista was mugged by reality..."

Did the mods leave that up?!?

"A vast majority of Germans were peace loving, but a small clique of arseholes soon put paid to THAT, as they got into power."

    Spot on!

"Interesting that today the local village hunters were out in force - not hunting but having target practice, something I have never seen them do in the 20 odd years I've been here."

Wise decision! The reports coming in that the two brothers had a grenade launcher (though inexplicably, don't seem to have used it) shows how lucky we were the death toll wasn't higher.
