Having lots of cops paint their nails (yes, really!) for 'Anti Slavery Day' wasn't Avon & Somerset's best idea:
Who could have predicted this?
Meanwhile:
You won't find that Tweet at their timeline, as they have since deleted it, presumably when the legal department strolled in, coffee in hand, and read it with that sinking feeling in the pit of their stomach. But the Internet is forever....
Just remember this when they whinge about resourcing.
I'm hoping my local force will pick up on this great idea! Stamp out hate crime! Please Mr Police Man paint your nails yellow to make people aware of hate crimes ....against smokers!
ReplyDeleteNorfolk Police are having to sack all thier PCSOs because they don't have the funds to cover the staff. As Gloucs Police clearly have officers with time on thier hands, perhaps they should transfer the funding across?
ReplyDeleteAn embarrassing own-goal. I can only imagine my reaction if an idiot senior officer came walking towards me with a pot of nail varnish.
ReplyDeleteJaded
Uh oh...looks like Gloucestershire let the pig out of the bag. No wonder they deleted it. We always knew that 'hate crimes' was all about harassing dissidents but the blue badge thugs are normally more subtle about hiding it.
ReplyDeleteVery astute move: "I'm sorry caller, our officers can't attend your emergency because their nail varnish isn't dry"...

ReplyDeleteLOL!
"....perhaps they should transfer the funding across?"
Or cut it until they can't waste it on this sort of rubbish?
"An embarrassing own-goal."
They are coming thicker & faster than a World Cup played by cretins, lately...
"Very astute move: "I'm sorry caller, our officers can't attend your emergency because their nail varnish isn't dry"..."
Heh!
