I lost count of the number of times I corrected this very thing prior to retirement. It seems that virtually everyone under the age of 35 deems both grammar and punctuation to be unnecessary complications.
I pointed out many times; "It's the difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit".
Ah, but petrol evaporates easily, so it probably would have diffused quite a bit....
