"We understand that the woman has some history of mental illness..."

Like me, I suspect that you too are as sick of hearing this as you are of news of the next store to shut up shop due to Coronavirus:
'We have sent specialist family liaison officers to support the family. This is a family's worst nightmare. The incident is horrendous and I cannot begin to imagine what the family of this little girl are going through.
'We are determined to quickly understand how this came to happen, leaving a young family so distraught and so devastated in an instant.'
At least he didn't trot out the cliched 'these events are very rare'.

Because they aren't, are they?

If this worthless bitch (as I'm assuming she contributed nothing to society) had "known mental issues", why had she not been sectioned long since? Why does it take the murder of a seven year old to get action? I refuse to believe she went from talking to the wall to going out and murdering the first sprog that presented itself, in one large leap!

  3. Yet another triumph for "care in the community"

  4. Could it be that the death of the odd peasant, even if they are a child, is worth it if money can be saved by allowing those with serious mental health issues to roam freely and murder at will?

  5. Another loss of life that was preventable. The system is no good. Where I am there are people who have been in hospital for five years and are deemed fit for the community by the doctors however, they can't look after themselves and kick off shouting things like " I fucking hate everyone/ I am going to kick your fucking head in". We have had residents using drink and drugs while on section. I have seen a resident trashing the place. And after being here for two years they get their own place in the community. What I am saying is after a serious crime is committed by a mentally ill person, the majority of them are locked up for around 8 years and then released when the majority need much longer and the system needs to be tailor made to the individual. It's like Robert the biker says, how long was this woman like this before murdering the little girl? Odds on she was already known to a mental health team. How sad.

Because she has 'rights'. The child? Collateral damage to people who want to preen about their humanity.

"...if money can be saved by allowing those with serious mental health issues to roam freely and murder at will?"

No, I don't think it's a cost thing at all. I genuinely believe even if given unlimited funds, the bleeding hearts would still insist on freedom for the floridly mentally ill.

"Odds on she was already known to a mental health team."

With corona dominating the headlines, will we ever find out?
