Assessing Danger...

The South Wales force had also referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, but did not say why.
Oh, I think we can all guess. It's not hard.
Locals said the arrested was from the village but now lives with her mother and young son in the nearby town of Porth, Rhondda.
A relative said she had mental health issues and had come out of a psychiatric hospital six weeks ago.
Another triumph for the NHS mental health service, with the police having to pick up the pieces. Literally.

Meanwhile, elsewhere:
A man has died and two people have been seriously injured after reportedly being attacked by a rampaging water buffalo at a farm in South Wales.
Well, at least you can spot the danger when a water buffalo is heading for you...

  1. Plod sits on the throne of public dislike but as soon as the singing and exaltation of NHS are over, you can see the latter making a serious bid for the crown.

  2. The Police lost my support years ago when they abandoned our area and then used every lie and excuse under the sun to avoid even coming out when crimes were reported. It will take a monumental effort on their part to regain even half the support I used to give them.

I began to doubt the honesty of plod when they faked up some testimony to do me for an alleged traffic offence in 1966. Nothing I have seen or heard since convinces me that matters have got any better since.

  4. Reference the Daily Fail's article about the rampaging water buffalo; only the Fail would print a picture of a Cape buffalo (Africa) and not a water buffalo (South-east Asia.

Oh, and thee Grauniad deserves an honorary mention, too. According to the Fail, and I quote,"Another farm in the area is thought to keep Mediterranean water buffalo to make soap, according to The Guardian." Er, there is no such creature!

    Now that's chutzpah!

"The Police lost my support years ago when they abandoned our area ... "

But not their hands in your pocket.

Oh, yes, that's what made me click on the story! One for Sunday.
