That really is bad news. Like Longrider I didn't agree with Mark concerning LVT but on - more or less - everything else it was a meeting of minds. For a short time I contributed to his blog but work and other calls on my time made it difficult to match Mark's commitment.
Tangentially, two my favourite bloggers, Scott Grønmark and Mark, have sadly succumbed to pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic cancer does seem to be a particular killer; a number of well-known people reported with it recently. My aunt died from it but only after autopsy was the cause of her death established: hard to find, hard to treat?
Yes, sad news. Not sure I followed his comments on gas thermodynamics..... too smart for me
ReplyDeleteOh, my. That's sad news. I vigorously disagreed with him on LVT (and still do), but otherwise we were pretty much in sync.

ReplyDeleteWould like to debate LVT with you and Longrider.
Sad news indeed.
ReplyDeleteAs a very new Scriblerus, I was beginning to understand the stories of people much better than me, and he was one of those.
Would like to debate LVT with you and Longrider.
ReplyDeleteTBH, I'd rather not. I had my fill of it debating with Mark. None of his arguments convinced me and I don't see that changing.
"Would like to debate LVT with you and Longrider."
ReplyDeleteLongrider's given the message I would've given - but thanks all the same
"I vigorously disagreed with him on LVT (and still do), but otherwise we were pretty much in sync."
ReplyDeleteYes, he was always vigorous in his defence of whatever but unfailingly polite. One of the good ones. He'll really be missed.

It's odd how that goes, isn't it? A little known illness suddenly achieving awful prominence.
