Protesters have complained about a new breed of police officer being sent to demonstrations to...
To what? Use tear-gas? Forcibly take DNA samples? Employ Bulgarian poisoned umbrellas?
...talk to people.
Ummm
....many protesters complained that police “protest liaison” officers – used throughout the weekend to allow organisers to discuss plans as events unfolded – were intrusive.
Anarchists, with their faces covered, used umbrellas to try to block the officers’ views, and argued with their own legal advisers over how to get rid of them.
Ahahahahahahahahaha!
Long-time Smash EDO supporter Glenn Williams said: “They are mingling in with the crowd.
“People have been objecting to that, and that has been the only source of conflict.”
Normal Brightonians remain supremely unimpressed:
Stanley Williams, 86, of central Hove, watched the march pass at Churchill Square.
He said: “I think it’s stupid.
“The bus was diverted. I thought it was a Jubilee parade.”
A woman watching the march in Western Road, who declined to give her name, said: “What is the point of having their faces covered? I don’t see the sense.”
That's because there is none.
"“They are mingling in with the crowd. People have been objecting to that, and that has been the only source of conflict.”
ReplyDeleteYet, when the police stand in a circle outside the crowd ...
Given the pretty lady in the picture, there are people who would have thought they had struck lucky if she spent ten minutes listening to their political viewpoint.
ReplyDeleteSuggested subtitle: "people eager to have their views heard angry about their views being heard".
ReplyDeleteThey are protesting about a company that makes munitions but employs people in the town, and that if there is war with Iran, a big if that these munitions may be used against Irainian civilians. As I recall the Peace Pledge Union was a NAZI front trying to keep Britain from rearming. As there is turmoil in the world, potential for war to commence quite suddenly, the military are being reduced in size and these idiots are trying to reduce our defensive capability even further.
ReplyDeleteOh joys, I didn't study modern history, though I do find the subject interesting but there does seem to be a level of precedent here. Ok not NAZIs but the religion of peace and Press TV providing support for these muppets.

*Yet, when the police stand in a circle outside the crowd ...*
ReplyDeleteOr when they just stand there...
Or when they wade in and crack heads with batons...
Now we can add
"Or when they mingle to try and listen to the crowd"
and
"Or when they don't listen to the crowd and just try to impose control"
The moaning is the same, the only thing that changes is who's doing the moaning.
British Olympic Moaning team for the gold!
They said you wozn't fit to mix with pigs, and I said you woz.
ReplyDelete"...there are people who would have thought they had struck lucky if she spent ten minutes listening to their political viewpoint."
ReplyDeleteI suspect they were confused and suspicious about the fact she was clean and smelled of deodorant.
"Suggested subtitle: "people eager to have their views heard angry about their views being heard"."
Indeed!
"British Olympic Moaning team for the gold!"
We'd be a shoo-in!

ReplyDeleteWatching the WHAT?
Men of honour MARCH. This is just a gaggle of subhuman scum, who would not know, or understand "HONOUR if it jumped up and slapped them accross the face with a duelling gauntlet.
