Young women who took part in a female empowerment project were honoured at a special event arranged by the borough’s police commander.
The Finding the Words project involved 23 young women, aged from 12-18, and explored strong themes including female exploitation, abuse and youth violence.Barking & Dagenham, eh? Nice, solid working class area.

I'm sure what's left of the frontline were heartened by this story.
Wonderful that they found an officer from an ethnic minority to pose for the photograph.

Oh, I think we're past that tipping point now.
