Boye was the second potentially dangerous patient to escape from the John Howard Centre in four months. Security is now being reviewed “as a matter of urgency” .
Perhaps that should have been done after the
first one? Just a thought…
While some patients are allowed leave from a medium-secure unit as part of a rehabilitation programme, those transferred from prison for mental health treatment are not.
So, glad we cleared that up!
Yesterday, Dean Ablakwa, 29, of Enfield, who works at the John Howard Centre, appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court charged with conspiracy to assist an offender to escape from lawful custody. He denied the offence. A trial is expected to start on April 23.
