Dorset Police Fail To Read The Room

When they geo flack from commenters and the public for sacking an officer for being 'insufficiently respectful' to the knife wielding teenager he was arresting, the PR Team evidently decided that if they released the video, the public would see sense and get behind them.

Well, to quote Vivian in 'Pretty Woman': "Big Mistake. HUGE!"

First the barrage of comments pointing out that's exactly how we, the public, want to see teen thugs treated:

And now, the fundraiser:

None of this will , of course, change minds at HQ, they will cling to their College Of Policing indoctrinated view of what the public are supposed to want from their police and ignore reality in favour of that

"they will cling to their College Of Policing indoctrinated view" and the underlying frankfurt marxist agenda which is increasingly being applied to the laughingly titled "justice system".

I imagine that by this time next week, Dorset Police recruiting department will be covered in dust and cobwebs. Shame they can't lock the Sociology degree senior officers, who ruined this man's career, inside.
From experience, there are times when polite words and Home Office approved restraining holds aren't possible or appropriate.

They only released a small section of the video in a move that East Germany in the 70's would be proud of.
My guess is that this PC will be reinstated on appeal and the senior management will be sucking lemons.

What you may need to consider that he was dobbed in by colleagues who thought his technique was 'inappropriate.'

Think about having those backing you up as you go to a large disturbance.............

I've been critical of some members the police before, both on here and in real life, but I think that this officer has been treated apallingly. There should be no problem with the other officers present not covering anything up as everything was recorded anyway. The officer communicated effectiively, and explained to the suspect what would happen if he continued to be a threat. We talked about the matter at work, and everyone thought PC Castle had done nothing wrong, including an ex-prisoner.

These people would have an aneurism if they ever saw an episode of ‘The Sweeny’.
