It's For The Children....Again!

"Recording a verdict of accidental death, coroner David Hinchliff said everything had been done to save her...

...Of the nine staff members involved on the day, six were qualified in first aid, the inquest was told."

So, nothing went wrong, no-one screwed up, it was an accident, but....something must be done anyway:

"Mr Hinchliff said he was satisfied there were sufficient levels of supervision and first-aid training at Redhill Infants, but expressed his concern that it was not compulsory in all schools."

Well, of course! It's not like that might make it hard to recruit and retain teachers already fed up with the increasing addition of responsibilities not otherwise connected to teaching, is it?

I have a suggestion - all UK coroners should be trained in first aid, too. Don't suggest for others what you aren't prepared to take on yourself, Mr Hinchliff...
