A motorist who was caught drink-driving twice within two weeks has been given a suspended jail sentence.Nor was it just a simple case of drink driving.
Bolton magistrates heard how Scott Byrne, aged 27, of Woodbridge Drive, Tonge Moor, was stopped driving a VW Golf on Manchester Road, Bolton, on October 11.
He was almost two times over the legal alcohol limit, had no insurance and resisted arrest. But don’t worry, there’s no danger of any punishment!
Byrne pleaded guilty to all the offences and was sentenced to two months in prison, suspended for two years.
He will also be subject to a 7pm to 7am curfew for 16 weeks and must attend Thinking Skills sessions for six days.Note that – ‘must attend’. Not ‘complete’, not ‘pass’. He just has to sit there for six sessions!
