Another /Golfclap For Essex Police...

“Devastated” Mrs Stevens said she had rung the police 18 times on the Wednesday and Thursday, requesting officers come out to assess the situation, look at the dead dog and decide whether any action needed to be taken over the two terriers.
However, she said she was told the matter was “not important”, claiming her son-in-law had been told by one officer that “it was only a dog”.
Essex Police was unable to confirm this, however a spokeswoman for the force admitted that officers had been unable to respond.
Bet they'd have been round quick enough if one neighbour had slagged another off on FaceBook...

Of course:- and a bacon sandwich within 100 yards of a mosque would get the armed response unit, helicopter(s), chief constable etc.

I wonder if Essex Police would have been so reticent had the unfortunate collie belonged to a copper?

In the absence plod action following the fatal attack would they have arrested the collie's owners for going around to the neighbour's house and beating the vicious mutts brains out with a crow bar?

I suspect the answers to those questions are - NO! and YES!

Plod are extremely busy on more urgent matters. Have the slightest idea how much effort they are putting into the DM comments sections alone, Julia?
