I believe they may have got the size wrong as well. Still it appears these days that truth and proper research is sacrificed because that does not attract readers/listeners/watchers and therefore sell media advertising space. Salacious and sensationalist journalism does and it allows the journalist to push their bias and to not have to put too much effort in as they can make it up as they go along.

Marine Iguanas grow to quite an impressive size but six feet tall in its socks would be pushing it a bit. Alongside the Kipling snip above this makes me wonder how thick people are, and how thick they can become and still remember to breathe.

Yup. They aren't that big at all, and most of their length is tail.
