The prosecution alleges that Norman did not check it was safe to drive over what was in the road, or he was not keeping a good enough look out.

It took 105 minutes for a jury to unanimously acquit Mr Norman after he was charged with death by careless driving after he struck the student on March 26, 2016.That long, huh? The biscuits must have been good.
And I wonder what bearing this will have on this recent case?

Both cases are absurd. Night time ie dark and idiot on Road when should not be.

About 20 years ago I was driving on a straight B road through a wooded area, at night in heavy rain so I wouldn't have been nailing it. I dipped my headlights for a car coming the other way, and when I put them up, they revealed the whites of the eyes of a three-wide column of troops in full camouflage running right towards me. They had no lights or the usual guy in high-viz 20 yards in front, but did have painted faces and grass hanging down from their helmets. I swerved to the offside to avoid them, as there was no way I would have stopped. If I had been driving more quickly, or reacted more slowly I would probably have killed or injured most of them and, in law, it would have been my fault.
