The Jerusalem reference made me think about the fact that the BBC banned the ELP version of Jerusalem from the airwaves for no other reason than that they were a pop group. Had their version been some kind of joke or send up I could understand it but, while obviously not to everyone's taste, it was a serious interpretation and not irreverent in any way.
