You're Right, It Does, And You've Drawn The Same Wrong Conclusions From It Again...

Watching the harrowing footage of what would become Yves Sakila’s final moments of consciousness, it is hard not to be reminded of the agonising death of George Floyd.

Had this one too consumed mass quantities of dangerous illegal drugs, then?

Sakila was declared dead in a Dublin hospital on 15 May, a short time after being pinned to the ground by security guards outside Arnotts, a city centre department store.
Congolese-born Sakila had allegedly been suspected of shoplifting in the store and fled.

Maybe he should have remained in the store to plead his innocence then.

In these deeply distressing images, the 35-year-old is being restrained by a group of security guards for nearly five minutes. He tries to protest but his shouts are muffled in the concrete when one of the men appears to put his knee on the back of Sakila’s neck. By the end of the video, Sakila has stopped moving.
The cause of death has not yet been established – an initial post-mortem examination reportedly inconclusive. Nor is it likely that the police investigation into claims of excessive force will establish exactly what was going through the minds of those involved.

Probably struggling to subdue a suspect who was trying to escape, no more than that.... Oh, and perhaps thinking about the danger they could have been in!

Yet, this is what I would like to understand. What would compel someone who can see that a person is being forcibly restrained by several men, to kneel on the individual’s neck? Would it have been different if the man suspected of stealing had been white?

No. Because it hasn't made any difference in this case. Securuty guards are there to stop shoplifting, and they will tackle you if you are black, white or sky-blue pink! And if shoplifting is a dangerous pasttime, it doesn't seem to have stopped anyone.

Six years ago we gathered and protested in the streets under Black Lives Matter banners. We were finally addressing the racism in Ireland that was overlooked for so long. Was all that in vain?

Not for the founders of BLM who made out like bandits, Sean!

As black people in Ireland, it feels as though we are repeatedly asked to sweep such horrific “incidents” under the rug, as though they are isolated tragedies, unconnected to any patterns or larger systemic issues.

Well, they are clearly connected to the criminality that seems to be overly present in the black population. But I feel you wouldn't want to discuss that...

But even after an event that has drawn international attention, most of the country appears to be in denial. The taoiseach, Micheál Martin, offered his condolences, adding that “the situation will have to be thoroughly investigated” and that “a lot of people are clearly very concerned about what has transpired here”. But showing no willingness to ask if racism may have played a part in Sakila’s handling lets the danger grow.

Because he can see that it clearly didn't.

There are justified concerns about not prejudicing the investigation. But in a climate where former prime ministers join in the scapegoating of marginalised and often racialised communities for the shortcomings of decades of failed leadership, the lack of a profound debate about systemic racism risks enabling more violent behaviour in the future.

The discussion of 'systemic racism' as a policy is getting a hammering in the UK at the moment, but you do you, Sean.

Those Who Live By The Sword...

One TikTok video captioned 'my boy' shows the owner dancing in her kitchen with her dog and laughing. The overlaying audio hauntingly plays: 'This is my son, and I don't give a f*** if you think he looks aggressive.' Posted in December, the footage with the audio continues: 'I don't give a f*** if you don't like the look of him, and I certainly don't give a f*** if you think the breed should be banned.'
The videos are of foul-mouthed and dim Nicole Morey, 23, who was savaged to death by her 'boy' in Limerick after a night out celebrating her birthday, with horrified Garda who turned up having to shoot the hulking brute off her shredded corpse.
The harrowing incident was captured on CCTV, and the footage has been leaked online, with Gardaí urging the public not to share it.

I heard this rumour on Twitter, but I've not seen the video, and I'd urge anyone sent the footage not to view it. The Garda are right, I did see the video of Ian Price being mauled to death, and it's something I wish I could unsee.

Ms Morey had previously posted on a dog behaviour Facebook group seeking advice on how to control the animal.

A quote from one of my favourite movies seems appropriate here: "You never had control, that's the illusion! I was overwhelmed by the power of this place. But I made a mistake, too, I didn't have enough respect for that power and it's out now."

Reacting to the shocking news, Justice Minister Helen McEntee said she now favours banning certain breeds of dog in Ireland, including the XL Bully.

Just like Scotland. It always takes a hi-profile death in their own country to force these idiots in power to act.

Currently no breeds are banned in Ireland, but there are restrictions on certain breeds - meaning owners must be over 16, the dogs must be muzzled in public, kept on strong leads or a chain and must wear collars at all times, containing the owners contact information. Asked if she wanted to see an outright ban, Ms McEntee told RTÉ News At One: 'Personally, I think there should be, yes.
'Where a dog is known to be potentially vicious… where there is a pattern of particular dogs, then we do need to go further here.
'This was in a person's home, so how do we protect people where they have dogs that are restricted, even within their own homes as well?

We don't, Helen. We let this problem solve itself.

'This review group is looking at all of the options here.
'We need to ensure that nothing like this happens again, this is really, really devastating.'

It will happen again, as it already has in England, despite the ban. But now it's mostly happening to the people that own these wertched things, and not to innocent people in public areas.

"We're Shocked, SHOCKED..."

"...to find religion going on in here!"
The row flared on Sunday when the priest gave an outspoken homily at St Mary’s church in Listowel in his native County Kerry, reportedly causing dozens of people to walk out.
The bishop of Kerry, Raymond Browne, apologised and said Sheehy’s views did not “represent the Christian position”.

Now, I'm no bible-basher but even I know there's something in there about unrepentant sinning...

However, the priest confirmed his view in radio interviews. Asked if he thought Varakdar and other gay politicians who supported gay and abortion rights would go to hell, he replied: “Absolutely.”

And...as Tim points out, this comes as a shock why?

Sheehy is now retired and delivered the homily in Listowel while covering for a parish priest who was away.

I'm betting he won't get asked again!

And Wasn't He Entitled To..?

The sitting judge said he doubted Kerrie's version of events, however, noting that he 'armed himself quickly'.

As would I under the circumstances:

Power had been drinking when he returned home at around 3am to discover his car had been damaged. He believed Kerrie had wrecked the car, and went to confront the teenager, according to The Mirror. The fisherman smashed the front window of the Kerrie home with a rock before entering through the front door. Kerrie told the police that he found a knife by the side of the bed and stabbed Power after his mother was attacked.
He defends himself from an intruder and yet is the one sent to jail..?

After a four year trial nightmare where two murder trials failed to reach a verdict..?

Wow! And I thought the English justice system was poor...

What's The Gaelic For 'Take A Knee, Coppers'..?

First, the lies:

Then, the extortion.

The race-baiting parasites begin making the narrative:

Finally, the truth:

Looking at this video of the scene, I'm astounded they even tried less-lethal alternatives (pepper spray and Taser) before dropping him like the rabid animal he was.

Coming Over Here, Savaging The Women That Good Irish Dogs Could Savage...

It is understood the animal was put down by a local vet after the attack and that the dog only came into the country last Friday.
Must be something in the water...
Locals said the dog was like a child to Paola and her boyfriend Erik Kostesic.
Yes, they always say that. But no 'child' weighs upwards of 100lb and has teeth like a wolf.
Two gardai were forced to hit the animal a number of times with their batons to subdue it.
I thought the gardai were armed?

They Take False Claims Seriously In The Emerald Isle…

The man who falsely accused X Factor judge Louis Walsh of groping him in a nightclub has been jailed for six months.

Leonard Watters, 24, pleaded guilty to making two false reports to Irish police that the pop music mogul sexually assaulted him in Dublin nightspot Krystle last April.
Wow! Compare the usually incredibly lax response to such claims here!
Pleading for a non-custodial sentence, Watters' solicitor, Cahir O'Higgins, said his client was a tragic figure whose life had been a litany of disasters from an early age.
I see ‘mitigation’s’ the same, though…
Passing sentence, Judge Dermot Dempsey immediately granted Watters bail to appeal against the decision, on condition that he lodged 100 euro (£83.50) in cash with the court.

Watters was now a laughing stock and a joke, and had been treated as a pariah in his own community, he told the court.

"For ever and a day, he will be known as the guy who accused Louis Walsh in the wrong," he said.
Can you imagine that being said about the usual inadequate or spiteful chavette who makes a false rape claim?

No, me neither.
