“Please Come Forward, But Don’t Name Those Bags, Or We’ll Nick You!”

Investigating officer PC Charlie Pollard said: “This was a nasty and totally unprovoked attack.”
She appealed for anyone with information to call her on 101, adding: “The luggage these men were carrying is very distinctive, so we are hopeful that someone will recognise this description.
“I urge anyone who remembers anything to come forward.”
Hmmm. That description being...?
All three were carrying luggage which was described by police as large red, white and blue plastic woven bags.
Gosh! Sounds….familiar!

Would that be "immigrant" bags?

It would be interesting to see if the word "immigrant" has become a "racist" term.

For some reason, I've got The Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin floating 'round in my head, no idea why...

These 'large red, white and blue plastic woven bags' are nicknamed 'Lo Wu briefcases' in their place of origin (Hong Kong).
There used to be a premium charged on the Chinese section of the Kowloon/Canton railway for rigid suitcases but soft bags could be taken free. Hence the emergence of MONSTER soft bags!

So it wasn't a racially aggravated crime then?

I always wondered about their origin!
